Witness helps police nab alleged car thief

A 40-year-old Waimanalo man was arrested for allegedly stealing a rental car after a woman reported seeing the suspect driving the vehicle.

Police said the car was stolen on Nov. 29. A 54-year-old woman said she saw the suspect driving the vehicle and later identified him for police.

The suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of second-degree theft and unauthorized entry into a vehicle.
