American Samoa and Samoa are under hurricane, flood and high-surf warnings tonight as Tropical Cyclone Evan approaches the territory and island nation.

According to news reports, the storm was over Samoa this afternoon and moving east towads American Samoa.

It is expected to make landfall tonight or early Thursday morning on American Samoa with winds of 70 to 90 mph and gusts of 120 mph.

Hawaiian Airlines spokesman Keoni Wagner said the airline will assess the situation Thursday morning before deciding whether to make any changes to its flight schedule.

A Hawaiian Airlines flight is schedule to depart Honolulu for Pago Pago, American Samoa Thursday afternoon.
