An autopsy will be conducted by the medical examiner Thursday to determine the cause of death of a 38-year-old Taiwan tourist who died in a hospital where he was taken in very critical condition after being pulled from a pool at the Turtle Bay Resort on Wednesday.

The Medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Chia-Wen Liu who was taken by paramedics to the hospital at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

No foul play is suspected, however, homicide detectives have been given jurisdiction of the case until a ruling is made on the cause of death.

I wonder if this was the Resort's pool, or one from the surrounding townhouses? Because the resort pool isn't that big, has a poo side bar within 5 steps from the pools edge, and usually lined with tourists and the like poolside. Apparently, this guy went under without anyone really noticing.

Stuff happens without anyone really noticing. So true. My 47yo brother died of a heart attack in a jacuzzi. The water was too hot for his body and his heart couldn't keep up. There were others in the jacuzzi, even a nurse. No one noticed his condition, until he slipped under the water and never resurfaced. By the time they pulled him up, maybe a minute or so, he was gone.
