Islands under high wind advisory

By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 07:47 a.m. HST, Dec 17, 2012

A wind advisory is in effect today for all Hawaiian islands through 6 p.m.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service say we can expect strong winds across the state today. Trade winds from 20 to 35 mph are expected with gusts up to 50 mph.

The strong winds can break off tree branches and stir up debris. Motorists are advised to use caution.
