Schofield deputy commander nominated for star promotion

The 25th Infantry Division deputy commander in charge of operations has been nominated for a star as a brigadier general, the Pentagon announced today.

Army Col. John P. Johnson has served in combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before being assigned to Schofield Barracks.

Johnson was commissioned a second lieutenant from the United States Military Academy in 1985.

Kudos to this soldier for service to his Country for a lengthy period of time. He has been in the service for a long time, 4 years as a cadet, than another 27 years in active duty. He certainly deserves to be promoted.
