Kalihi man arrested after stabbing at Mayor Wright Homes

A 38-year-old Kalihi man is in custody after a 20-year-old man was stabbed early this morning in a Palama housing parking lot.

Police said two men were arguing at 2:45 a.m. and that the 38-year-old man shot the victim in the head with a slingshot.

The 20-year-old man tackled the suspect, who stabbed him several times, police said.

Security personnel at Mayor Wright Homes separated the two men and disarmed the suspect.

The victim was taken in serious condition to a hospital with two stab wounds.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
