Haleakala National Park is looking for high school applicants for its Pohei Maile summer internship program.

The internship, June 10-28, will introduce the interns to park programs and generate interest in careers related to natural resources management, interpretation and facilities management.

Program hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free transportation to the park will be provided from designated sites in Central Maui and Upcountry. Neighbor island interns must provide their own housing on Maui near the park or a designated pickup site.

Interns are eligible for a living allowance of $25 per day to help offset the cost of supplies and equipment.

Twelve interns will be selected. Applicants must be Hawaii residents.

Application packets are available at www.nps.gov/hale or by contacting the park’s internship coordinator, Kuhea Paracuelles, at 572-4452 or Kuhea_Paracuelles@nps.gov.

Completed applications must be postmarked by March 15.
