Honolulu firefighters have contained a 2-acre brush fire near the Kalaeloa Airport.
The fire, which occurred on state land, was accidentally started during a routine brush-clearing operations, according to Honolulu Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Terry Seelig.
Firefighters were called to the scene around 1:40 p.m. and were able to contain the blaze by 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
The fire was located below a National Guard hangar and above the airfield. No structures were threatened and no operations were affected by the fire.
