Lifeguards rescued four people from the ocean in two separate incidents Monday.
A lifeguard helped a 5-year-old girl and her father to shore after they got into trouble at Ala Moana Beach Park at about 3:30 p.m., a spokeswoman for the city's Emergency Services Department said.
Another lifeguard jumped off the cliff at Spitting Caves near Hawaii Kai to rescue a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl who were having difficulties in the water at about 4 p.m, the spokeswoman said. The lifeguard helped the two people stay afloat until a rescue ski arrived and brought them to shore.
None of those rescued required medical attention.
