Man, 41, held in alleged kidnapping of family member

A 41-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a family member on the North Shore earlier this month.

Police said that the victim, 42, reported that the suspect argued with her and choked her about 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 12. The next day, the man found the victim, forced her into her vehicle and drove around the North Shore, police said.

The man was arrested on Ke Iki Road about 1:15 p.m. Thursday and is being held pending charges of kidnapping, assault, and violating a court order.
