Strong earthquake strikes central Chile; no tsunami threat to Hawaii

A magnitude-6.7 earthquake struck central Chile at 10:16 a.m, but poses no tsunami threat to Hawaii, officials at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center say.

The earthquake was centered 63 miles south-southwest of Copiapo, Chile at a depth of 29 1/2 miles.
