Hawaii County Fire Department resumed the search this morning for a man who had gone diving Wednesday at Puuhonua O Honaunau National Park in Captain Cook.

A friend became concerned when the diver missed his flight to the mainland Thursday morning. The victim’s truck, wallet and cell phone were found at the entrance to the park.

An aerial and shoreline search for the missing diver began at 8:24 p.m. Thursday and was called off at midnight.

Why do people go diving by themselves? Isn't it an unwritten rule that you dive with a "buddy"?

Especially, places alien to the diver(s). You may meet a mermaid and never come back up.
