Washington claimed the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic title with a 3-1 win over the University of Hawaii softball team tonight at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Home runs by Kaitlin Inglesby and Hooch Fagaly accounted for all of No. 16 Washington's scoring and reliever Bryana Walker retired all 14 batters she faced to send No. 23/25 UH (5-1) to its first loss of the season.

UH senior Kaia Parnaby's scoreless innings streak to start the season ended at 27 1/3 when Inglesby launched a two-run homer in the top of the first.

UH answered with a single run in the bottom of the inning when Keiki Carlos drew a bases-loaded walk.

After Fagaly got that run back for the Huskies with a solo homer in the third, UH loaded the bases again with one out in the bottom of the third. Walker entered the game in relief of starter Kasey Stanchek and struck out the next two hitters to begin a streak of six consecutive Ks.

Walker went on to retire the Wahine order over the final four innings.

UH reached the tournament final with a 2-0 win over Ole Miss earlier in the afternoon.

Parnaby struck out five and gave up three hits in her third shutout of the tournament.

UH manufactured the go-ahead run in the fifth inning. With runners on first and third and two out, Jazmine Zamora got caught in a rundown between first and second. Sharla Kliebenstein broke from third and beat the throw to the plate.

Ole Miss loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the sixth on a double by Bri Payne, the first hit surrendered by Parnaby, and two bunt singles. Parnaby got Allison Brown to pop out to shortstop and Londen Ladner hit into a 5-2-3 double play to end the threat.

UH added an insurance run on Jessica Iwata's sacrifice fly and Parnaby stranded a runner on base in the seventh to end the game.
