Pedestrian, 16, seriously injured in downtown crash

A 16-year-old girl was seriously injured while crossing the street near the State Capitol Friday morning.

Emergency Medical Services said the girl was hit by a car at Richards and Beretania streets at 6:50 a.m. at the intersection fronting St. Andrews Priory.

Allie, it isn't just the drivers. There aren't enough rules out there that can protect people from themselves. Part of the blame has to be put on the pedestrian who doesn't do his/her part.
