Maui fire investigators suspect that the fire to the tree chipper in the parking lot of Easter Seals Hawaii may have been intentionally set.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 155 Wakea Avenue at 3:59 p.m. Monday and had the blaze extinguished by 5:25 p.m.

Although the cause of the fire was classified as undetermined, fire officials said it appears to be intentionally set and will continue their investigation. Total damage was estimated at $17,000.

There were no reported injuries.
