Firefighters spent three hours early this morning responding to seven brush fires that were believed to have been intentionally set in Nanakuli Valley.

Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said a company of firefighters responded to a 3:15 a.m. alarm for a brush fire on Lualualei Naval Road near Mohihi Road.

An hour later the firefighters were summoned to extinguish another brush fire near Paakea Street.

At 5 a.m. another brush fire was reported near Mokiawe Street and then near Helelua Street.

No one was injured and no homes were at risk.
