Jazmine Zamora's tiebreaking home run helped power the University of Hawaii softball team to an 8-5 win over Campbell today in the Bank of Hawaii Invitational at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine then closed the doubleheader with a 5-0 loss to Memphis to set up a rematch with the Tigers on Sunday in the bracket portion of the tournament.

No. 20/22 UH and Memphis meet at 11 a.m. Western Kentucky and Campbell are scheduled to play at 1 p.m. Due to WKU's travel plans, the Lady Toppers are guaranteed to play in the 3 p.m. game. The final game of the tournament is scheduled for 5.

In today's first game, Hawaii trailed Campbell 2-0 before Jessica Iwata tied the game in the third inning with her first home run of the season.

Campbell reclaimed the lead on Courtney Klingler's leadoff homer in the fourth and stretched it to 4-2 in the fifth.

Kayla Wartner walked to lead off the bottom of the fifth and UH put runners on second and third when Iwata's infield popup fell in safely. Leisha Li'ili'i then lined a double off the top of the left-field fence to tie the game.

After a pitching change, Zamora gave UH its first lead with a two-out, two-run home run to left field, her third homer of the season.

UH added two more runs in the sixth on RBI doubles by Kelly Majam and Keiki Carlos and UH pitcher Kaia Parnaby recorded her 10th complete game of the season and improved to 9-2.

In the second game, Memphis pitchers Jordan Richwood and Ellen Roberts combined on a one-hit shutout. Richwood struck out eight over five innings and Roberts threw the final two innings.

Memphis scratched out a run in the top of the first then added four more in the second, three coming on a home run by Morgan Mosby.

UH freshman Loie Kesterson made her first appearance at RWSS this season and struck out eight over 5 1/3 innings of shutout relief.
