Yes, again!! I think drivers should have a thorough mental health background check. And, cars should have 50 HP max. Silly, right??? Where's Joe Biden when we really need him???

I drive that route every morning around 6:00am. Cops were parked in a no crosswalk area in front of the church across McDonalds. Feel very bad for the injured pedestrian. However, and much too often, pedestrians will run or walk across Ft. Weaver Road (in non crosswalk areas) which is also poorly lit in many stretches. They often dress in dark or black clothing and cannot be seen until you are right upon them. Some responsibilty needs to be placed upon the pedestrian to follow safety common sense and the Highways division to better illuminate the crosswalks. If you choose to run across a poorly lit, non-crosswalk area, and wear your fashionably dark clothing.......well, that's plain stupid! SERIOUS: Get Serious!!!

It was a YOKE!!!! I walk many hours a day--but I have found that cars are bigger than I am and give them the right of way every time--lots of cars have the darkened windows so you can't get eye contact. You are correct, so many people in the dark wear dark clothing and run across--I live in Waikiki--here, so many cross looking at their hand held devices!!!

What a person is holding in his hand or looking at it is irrelevant. His body was out there to see. It is like saying that because he was looking at a device in his hand, that I could not see him, if only he was looking up. Like maybe he shouldn't have black hair. Or shucks, he was a black man. Pity.
