Kapolei couple charged in road rage incident

A road rage incident early Sunday morning at the Kapolei Shopping Center ended with two people behind bars.

Police said the incident occurred just after midnight Sunday when a 53-year-old Kapolei man left his vehicle and opened the door of a car where a 20-year-old man was a passenger. The 53-year-old suspect then allegedly punched the younger man in the face.

At the same time, a 56-year-old Kapolei woman went after another woman in the same car and tried to hit a 42-year-old woman, but missed. The 56-year-old woman then tried to pull the 42-year-old woman from the car.

Kenneth Kalaukoa, 53, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. His bail was set at $15,000.

Geraldine Mahi-Kalaukoa, 56, was arrested and charged with unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, Her bail was set at $11,000.
