Showers, more muggy weather predicted through weekend

A weakening cold front promises to bring showers to much of the state today while cooling trade winds are expected to return on Sunday.

Officials at the National Weather Service forecast the cold front to travel across the state from northwest of Kauai, reaching Oahu this afternoon and Maui around midnight, but stopping short of Hawaii County.
