Police charged a 41-year-old man with kidnapping, abuse, assault and other offenses related to two alleged incidents involving a household member this month.

Police said Jerry Avilla Jr., who does not have a local address, choked a 42-year-old woman during an argument on Dec. 12. The next day, Avilla allegedly forced the victim into a car and assaulted her as he drove along the North Shore.

Avilla was found and arrested Thursday. His aggregate bail was set at $50,000.
