Gas leak closes section of Lusitana Street

A section of Lusitana Street, above Vineyard Boulevard and below the H-1 freeway, has been closed due to a gas leak.
Honolulu Fire Department personnel confirmed a gas odor in the area shortly before 5 p.m. and notified the Gas Co., according to HFD spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig.
A Gas Co. crew is on site to repair what appears to be a broken line.
No evacuation was necessary and no injuries nor illness has been reported.
It has not yet been determined how long the road will be closed.
