By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 12:30 p.m. HST, Jan 02, 2013

A Honolulu company that brought Jamba Juice to Hawaii has sold its interest in the smoothie store chain to the local owners of Hawaii Jack in the Box restaurants.

The sale by JJC Hawaii LLC to Blue Pacific Juice LLC involves 32 Jamba Juice stores statewide.

A purchase price was not disclosed.

The two companies issued a joint statement saying they expect a smooth transition for the operation employing roughly 600 people, and that potential remains to continue expanding the smoothie chain.

Blue Pacific Juice is headed by Chris Scanlan and Eddie Park, who own and operate 27 Jack in the Box restaurants in Hawaii.

There was once (upon a time) some kind of business relation ship w/ Starbucks of Hawaii (i.e. I think the people who brought Jamba Jiuce to Hawaii are the same people who brought Starbucks) which is why you see JJ & Starbucks close to each other in many locations. I Think these guys also brought over PF Changs and also I think "Blockbuster" vidio is related as well. (wish the reporter could unravel this a bit).
