With clouds covering the golf courses on the Windward side today, President Barack Obama chose to spend part of the afternoon bowling and eating shave ice with his daughters.

A motorcade that included Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia left the president’s Kailuana Place vacation compound at about 1:40 p.m. and arrived at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe about six minutes later, a pool report said.

The entourage left the Marine Corps base about about two hours later and went for shave ice at Island Snow at the Kailua Beach Center.

A stop for the presidential entourage during previous visits, the first family entered the shop with several family friends, the pool report said.

Obama emerged a few minutes later with a green-and-red colored shave ice. Dressed in an untucked navy polo shirt and jeans, Obama greeted a small crowd that had gathered quickly outside.

Obama spent several minutes shaking hands and asking “How are you doing?”

The entourage then hopped back into their vehicles and returned back to Kailuana about 4:15, the pool report said.

Obama is the President of the U.S. and the most powerful man on the planet. No matter where he goes it costs a lot of money for his security and ours. You, Mana07, are a NOBODY in comparison. A President and his family deserve a vacation even more than the average man, so cut the stupidity.

Funny that it's hardly mentioned that there's a 3.5% increase in taxes for some because of Obamacare. Examples: Have you sold your primary residence in 2012? If you are single and sell your primary residence at a $260,000 gain, there is the potential for a taxable event. If you are a beneficiary of a trust or an estate, no matter how humble, this new tax may also affect you. Blah, blah. Most of the folks know about the payroll tax; we pay 2% more in taxes. Having said this, we could have paid more taxes if the cliff fell. Small problem: the passed bill will 'add nearly $4 trillion to federal deficits over a decade" per the CBO. More to come.

The article is on the President's vacation and spending time with his family, not about his tax policy. Give it a rest! Jussayin.

Most of the tax increases are expirations of temporary tax cuts that were not meant to last forever.
