Hilo man charged with attempted murder of 2 police officers

A 31-year-old Hilo man who allegedly shot two police officers Wednesday, was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, second-degree reckless endangering and various weapons charges.
Keaka D. Martin remains in critical condition at Hilo Medical Center from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
The two officers remain hospitalized in stable condition.
One officer was shot in the leg and heel, while the other was shot in the hip, police said.
