City reports 85 jellyfish stings in Waikiki and at Ala Moana

Oahu officials Sunday treated 85 box jellyfish stings and counted 897 jellyfish mostly in the Waikiki area, an emergency services spokeswoman said. 

Jellyfish warning signs have been posted between Waikiki and Ala Moana beaches.

Officials said they expect the jellyfish sightings to begin decreasing after today and be close to 90 percent gone by Tuesday.

The count was taken between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
