Crews contain Ewa Beach brush fire

Honolulu Fire Department personnel contained a 50-acre brush fire in Ewa Beach late Saturday night after the blaze flared up earlier that evening.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, HFD spokesman Capt. Robert Main said. 

Federal firefighters assisted with the effort to battle the blaze that spread out over an area bordered by North Road, Fort Weaver Road and Iroquois Point. It was reported around 5:45 p.m.

Main said officials called the fire under control at 10:37 p.m., and it was contained at 11:45 p.m.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
