New Dog Chapman reality series will premiere in April

By Mike Gordon

LAST UPDATED: 07:19 p.m. HST, Jan 07, 2013

Hawaii bounty hunter Dog Chapman and his wife Beth will premiere their new reality show in April on CMT, the network announced. No specific air date was given, however.

The hour-long show, tentatively called "Dog," will follow the couple as they criss-cross the country to help struggling bail bondsmen companies, the network said in a statement.

Chapman told the Star-Advertiser in September that he wanted to do this series to help bounty hunters deal with an increasingly dangerous profession that had claimed lives in recent months.

Fans of Chapman had howled in protest ever since his popular show was canceled by A&E last summer.

CMT, which ordered 10 episodes last September, says it reaches 92 million homes in the United States.

mega dittos rapanui00 - he exploited us for his personal gain with all that crape about chronics everywhere and the great bow wow and his breasty one tracking them down, etc. They never came close to understanding Hawaii and I know them, they never cared to really know Hawaii - they got what they wanted. Dog is a fake "Indian" too...

Why do you blame Dog for all of that? After all, he's only going after the people who have committed crimes. If anything, it is THOSE people who have given Hawai'i a "horrible reputation". Sometimes the truth hurts, or do you spend your days with your head hidden in...the sand? Sounds like a lot of jealousy veiled in indignant protests. You've given your true selves away, folks. Don't try to claim otherwise. For myself, I happen to like Dog. Turn the channel if you dislike the Chapmans so much.

Yes I did, in fact me and Barack Sr. go way back to the days when I was running guns out of Kenya. Real nice guy actually. A pity his son is addicted to war and killing innocent people.

Don't gun runners contribute to the addiction of wars that kill many many innocent people?

True but guns can also be used for self-defense, to prevent war. Every country needs a strong military for defense. It's the greediness and arogance of the US administration that causes it to always find ways to make enemies of someone. Look at other countries compared to the US and tell me this country isn't addicted to war.

So by your definition, it's okay to be half right as long as your half fits your idea of moral ethical behavior and the other half is morally deficient.

Half right? Where did you get that from? I'm not saying I'm right or wrong. Guns and other arms are necessary in today's world. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. In other words, the US choses to wage wars for it's own economic and political benefit, resulting in the suffering of an untold number of people. I believe the world would be more peaceful if Obama ended these wars right now. Not to mention do away with a foreign policy that has the US playing global police.

What? You mean the part of guns being used for self-defense? Than I guess all arms dealers should be shut down right? Anyway the US is causing more problems than it solves by playing world police.

I'm sorry to hear that he did that to you and your kids. That is simply outrageous. Hopefully he will get his comeuppance. That just goes to show what kind of a man Mr Chapman is. What amazes me is that there must be an audience for him or the network would not pick him up. Either that or Mr. Chapman has some powerful connections. Either way, Mr. Chapman does not represent Hawaii. I don't know of anyone that watches his shows. And the response from the readers speaks for itself.
