Mililani man arrested for allegedly shooting at girlfriend, another man

By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 05:30 a.m. HST, Jan 25, 2013

A 44-year-old Mililani man was arrested after he allegedly shot at his girlfriend after discovering her asleep in bed with another man at the second man’s house half a mile away from his own on Wednesday morning.

Police said the suspect removed several louvers, reached into the bedroom of the Kiilani Street home and pointed a handgun at the couple about 8 a.m. The second man managed to wrestle the gun away from the first man, who then fled.

The first man then returned with a shotgun and fired into the house, HPD said, but no one was injured as the couple hid behind an interior wall.

Arriving police officers arrested the suspect, of a Kauluikua Place address, at the scene about 10 a.m. He is being held pending counts of attempted murder, first-degree burglary and several firearms violations.

WOW! This doesn't make sense at all. He goes to rob this guy, the guy takes away his gun and he returns later with a shotgun and shoots at the house????????????????? Is this guy "STUPID"? Maybe he took some "stupid pills" before he robbed the place. I can't help but to "bust a gut".

The court system had better not release this dangerous criminal. No bail please. What has gone wrong with people like this?

The homeowner should have shot him with his own gun. This is scary. Let's see how our judges respond to this incident. This guy needs to be locked up for a couple of decades.

Agree, at least the guy wouldn't have chance to come back with a shotgun. Wonder how long will he get for attempted murder. Maybe just couple months, knowing our judicial system. Prosecutors give too many deals.

That works. Got into a struggle with the robber and gun goes off. Yeah, I like that one. Gun went off four times in his head. Not my fault. Thanks, I'm going to remember this one.

This guy will probably get probation, given the leniency of our judicial system. Remember the guy who shot at another motorist on the freeway a few months back. He hit the car, but missed the occupant and got probation. Apparently, in the eyes of our judicial system, it's not about intent to kill but rather whether you can aim that determines what your sentence is.

Saw this story on the morning news yet the story said (something to the effect) "Ex-boyfriend of the woman went to her Mililani home and found her in bed with another guy............so he came back with a gun". Kinda makes a little more sense than the above......................

"Police said the suspect entered the Mililani home, where the couple were sleeping, armed with a handgun at 8 a.m." If the couple WERE SLEEPING on a weekday at 8 a.m., I would think most "burglars" would see the car(s) at home and wouldn't bother....I think the "Love Triangle" story is more accurate.
