The Pro Bowl will avoid a television blackout in Hawaii.

NFL officials said Friday the game set for Sunday has sold enough tickets to allow the game to air live in the state. Officials say there are a limited number of tickets left for the game set for 7 p.m. EST on NBC.

The Pro Bowl is the NFL’s all-star game, pitting the best players from the NFC and AFC against one another.

The "best" players from the NFC and AFC? Gimme a break! Besides the fact that nobody from the 49ers or Ravens will be there, a bunch of others from playoff teams chose not to come for this farce of a game because of unspecified "injuries" or other reasons. If the Pro Bowl is to survive, and that's a big IF, it must be played after the Super Bowl, not before it. Either that, or follow the lead of the NBA, NHL and MLB and have it at mid-season. Instead of rotating bye weeks all season long, take two weeks off after 8 games, one for the Pro Bowl and one for rest.
