The Pro Bowl’s overnight television ratings were a fraction lower than last year but still the fourth best for the game since 2000.

An NBC spokesman said the overnight Nielsen ratings drew a 7.7 rating, down from 7.9 in 2012 when about 12.5 million viewers watched the annual NFL all-star game.

NBC said, “The Pro Bowl continues to be one of the most-watched events on the sports calendar, and we are pleased that it helped NBC win the night in primetime.”

The NFC won the game, 62-35.
