Police arrested a 9-year-old boy who tried to rob a Kalihi convenience store for ice cream but didn’t get a lick.

Police said the boy entered the store at 7:40 a.m. allegedly wielding a dangerous instrument and threatened the 58-year-old store clerk.

The boy then opened an ice cream freezer, but when he found none, he fled without any merchandise, police said.

Police arrested the boy on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
