Police arrested and charged a 49-year-old Kapiolani woman for illegally purchasing copper in Aiea.

The woman, a business owner, was arrested 2:25 p.m. today for the misdemeanor offense of scrap metal statement required.

Police arrested Hui Ming Zhong at an Aiea property.

The offense allegedly occurred at 2:11 p.m. Tuesday.

Police charged her for the misdemeanor offense and she was released after posting $100 bail.
