Firefighters aid 3 injured hikers in separate incidents on Oahu

Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel responded to three incidents involving injured hikers around Oahu Saturday.

At 2:26 p.m., firefighters were called to the Maunawili Falls Trail where a man in his 20s was injured while jumping from the falls. The man was airlifted to Maunawili Park and transferred to the care of Emergency Medical Services. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Just before 6 p.m., firefighters responded to Laie Falls Trail, where a man in his 50s required assistance after injuring his leg. The man was airlifted to safety and transported to an area hospital.

At 7:24 p.m., firefighters were called to Pupukea where a boy had suffered an injury while hiking. Firefighters located the hiking party and escorted the child and the rest of the party off the trail.
