Woman arrested in assault of officer who tried to break up dispute

Police arrested a 33-year-old woman on Friday evening after she allegedly assaulted a police officer downtown.

Police said the woman, who does not have a local address, was threatening another woman on Maunakea Street when the officer attempted to intervene. The suspect then assaulted the officer, causing bodily injury,  according to police.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and second-degree terroristic threatening.
