It appears former Texas-El Paso assistant coach Aaron Price will be joining the Hawaii football program.

Price was with the Miners for nine years, the past five as offensive coordinator. His duties included play-calling, and coaching the quarterbacks and special teams.

Price’s tenure at UTEP ended after the 2012 season when his father, Mike Price, retired as the Miners’ head coach.

Mike Price and UH coach Norm Chow are close friends. They run pro-set offenses that have similar schemes.

Aaron Price was a kicker at Washington State. He played briefly in the Canadian Football League and World League before pursuing a coaching career.

He was a graduate assistant at Washington State for two years. He then coached the quarterbacks and kickers at Idaho State, the special teams at Cal Poly, and quarterbacks and kickers at Missouri Western State.

Price has coached under his father the past 14 seasons.

Hmmm, so Texas El Paso didn't retain him after his Father retired. I wonder why. I guess he needed to be under the watchful care of his Father all those years and now under the watchful care of Uncle Norm. I wonder what kind of coach he is??

UTEP has not been a good football team for a number of years now. Last year they were 3-9. Would you keep anyone on that staff?

Hmmmm. Rolo wasn't retained after Mac retired. I wonder why? I've been at jobs where I've had excellent reviews yet a new boss comes in and doesn't like the way your hair is set and your life is made miserable until you leave or else.

that has nothing to do with anything. 99% of the time a new coach comes in he cleans house. Norm didnt keep anyone on staff except Tony Tuioti. Think he should have kept Aranda and Rolo if he was looking for top guys. Coaches look for coaches that will kiss up and/or coach their way. Why you think Chow has but the screwsinto Uperesa. not a kiss up

Mike Price. Coached Jason Gesser at Wazzu when Gesser made his run for the Heisman. Also coached Drew Bledsoe and Ryan Leaf at Wazzu. Let's hope his son is half the recruiter his father was. Wazzu had some good teams when Mike Price was there. Well, Coach Mike (don't call me Larry) Price, welcome to Hawaii. It sure beats the heck out of spending winters in Pullman.

Hmmmm.....another connection to the abundant football talent in Texas. Also UTEP's woes have been on the defensive side of the ball and not on the offensive side. So Price, as the OC and play-caller, may have some posiive impact for the Warriors. Hopefully, there is more "method to his madness" pursuant to Coach Chow.

The following is what his father is known for; " In April 2003, before inking his seven-year deal at Alabama, Price was fired for what the school called improper behavior after spending time at a strip club and drinking too much the night before a charity golf outing......" That's how he ended up at El Paso! A son who probably wouldn't have gotten a job anywhere else - and Chow picks him up - HURRAY!
