Man, woman arrested after being caught in stolen car in Ala Moana

A man and woman could face numerous criminal charges after they were caught in a stolen car early Friday morning in the Ala Moana area.

A Honolulu police officer pulled over the couple after witnessing a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen and that the female passenger was in possession of illegal narcotics.

The driver, a 19-year-old man with no local address, was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and driving with a suspended license. The 18-year-old passenger, who also has no local address, was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motorized vehicle, promotion of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal use of an air gun.
