Police have charged a 27-year-old convicted felon from Waianae who allegedly was seen with a handgun while driving a stolen vehicle Friday.

Elbert Pemberton was charged Wednesday night with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, as well as three gun charges.

Police said Pemberton was spotted driving a stolen car on Friday, and a dark colored handgun was seen in his possession.

After investigating, police identified, located and arrested Pemberton on Tuesday.

Pemberton has a conviction record which includes two auto break-ins and an auto theft in 2008.
