Runoff from overnight rains swelled water levels in Palolo Stream this morning.

Swimmers are being warned not to enter coastal waters on Oahu.

The state Department of Health has issued a Brown Water Advisory for Oahu after last night’s heavy rains.

The Health Department said storm runoff could contain water from overflowing cesspools and sewer manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, bacteria, chemicals and flood debris.

The best advice, officials said, is that if the water is brown, stay out.
