A man was fatally injured Wednesday morning in a motorcycle crash in Wailuku, Maui police said.
Police identified the victim as Zaul Acevedo Gonzales, 40.
Police said Acevedo Gonzales was driving a 2009 Yamaha R1 motorcycle north on Kauna Lipo Street abou 10:20 a.m. when it crossed the center line and hit a curb. Acevedo Gonzales and the motorcycle came to rest in the back yard of a home on Maka Hou Loop.
Acevedo Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was wearing a helmet.
It was Maui’s third traffic fatality of the year, the same number as at this time last year.
