Pahoa man charged with Hilo gunpoint robbery

Hawaii County police charged a 25-year-old Pahoa man Tuesday in the gunpoint robbery of a Hilo couple in their carport June 24, 2012.

Patrick John Lindsey is charged with first-degree burglary, attempted first-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and attempted first-deree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

Bail was set at $105,000.

Police said a man with a gun approached a 55-year-old resident who was parking his vehicle at about 3 a.m. June 24 in his carport on upper Kukuau Street.

The man’s wife came out after hearing the commotion, and the intruder threatened her with the gun, police said.

Police said the intruder, who appeared to be wearing a mask, ran away.
