‘Lion King’ to return to Hawaii in 2014

Tickets for the return of Disney’s “The Lion King'” go on sale Thursday for a Honolulu engagement in early 2014.

The show will open Jan. 14 in the Blaisdell Concert Hall with performances through March 9.

Tickets will range from $33 to $90 with a 10 percent discount for group sales of 10 or more. A premium VIP ticket package that includes a prime seat location, a commemorative souvenir program and “an exclusive merchandise item” will cost $157 on weekdays and $177 on weekends. 

Ticket sales at all price levels will be limited to groups of 10 or more through July 19. Call 593-9468 to order.

Individual tickets for the show will go on sale on July 20.

Gov. Neil Abercrombie was joined by Jack Lucas, president of WestCoast Entertainment, Jack Eldon of Disney Theatricals and Mayor Kirk Caldwell in making the announcement this morning at Washington Place.
