The woman whose body was found in Kewalo Basin on Tuesday morning has been identified by the city medical examiner’s officer as Jennifer M.H. Kim, 35.

How she died, or even where she is from, remains undisclosed, however.

Homicide detectives from the Honolulu Police Department are investigating the death. Surfers found Kim’s body near the former site of the University of Hawaii dolphin research facility just after 7 a.m. Tuesday.

HPD has classified the case as an unattended death and that will remain unless medical examiners determine there is reason to believe otherwise, police said
