Los Angeles-based Farmers Insurance has announced 74 job cuts in Honolulu, beginning in 60 days, a company spokesman confirmed.

Eighteen people were notified this week that their positions would be eliminated in two months, whereas the remaining 56 positions will be cut over a longer time-frame, concluding with 22 positions that won’t be cut until the end of next year.

The job cuts represent roughly 30 percent of the company's Hawaii workforce.

This breaking news so we will wait for the story. A story come from asking questions. Questions from journalists. Yes, the group that certain law makers think deserve some kind of elite status under the law. LOL!

Farmers Insurance will never get my business. I had Farmers before I moved to Hawaii from the mainland. I went to the local Farmers and they told me they aren't adding new clients. I guess they are hurting for new customers now because I keep getting mail from them.

Despite all the fancy TV commercials, it appears Farmers Insurance is on a downhill spiral to bankruptcy. Policy holders jumping like rats leaving a sinking ship. Time to dump Farmers before they take you down with them, not refunding your insurance premiums. Move fast, don't wait. Glad I already switched.
