Man, 32, held in alleged assault on girlfriend

Police arrested a 32-year-old man who allegedly assaulted his 34-year-old girlfriend Saturday in the University area.

Police said the couple got into an argument and the man assaulted the woman with a dangerous instrument.

The woman was treated and released from an area hospital the same day but did not report it to police.

The woman reported the assault today and the man was found and arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
