Fire destroyed a single-family house Friday morning located in a wooded area in Hawaiian Acres subdivision in Puna.
Hawaii County firefighters responded to the 10:47 a.m. fire and arrived at 11:02 a.m., and found the house fully engulfed in flames.
The fire crews used tank water to extinguish the fire at Hawaiian Acres Road 6 between Roads C and D.
The blaze was under control at 11:20 a.m. and extinguished at 12:13 p.m.
Damage was estimated at $60,000. No one was inside the home at the time, and it is unknown whether anyone lives there.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
