Police are looking for a 25-year-old man in connection with an alleged robbery and kidnapping in Kakaako early Saturday morning.

Police said the suspect and 20-year-old woman were arguing around 2 a.m. when the suspect took the woman’s property, then used force to keep her from getting it back.

According to police, an on-duty deputy sheriff intervened when he saw the suspect pulling the victim down a roadway against her will.

The suspect fled and has not yet been located.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.

cojef, in the 1970's, Kakaako was a medium industrial area. Honolulu Iron Works was a huge complex, extending from Punchbowl, ala Moana, South and Pohukaina. The City dump and the Honolulu Incinerator were where Kakaako Park is now. That shortened smokestack was the real thing. Prior to that, all of Kakaako was Honolulu's slums.
