University of Hawaii pitcher Kaia Parnaby broke a school and conference strikeout record and freshman Alyssa Villalpando hit two home runs to power the Rainbow Wahine to a 9-3 win over Pacific today in Stockton, Calif., in their final game of the regular season.

No. 20/24-ranked UH clinched the Big West title on Friday and completed the series sweep against the Tigers to close the regular season at 43-11 overall and 20-4 in league play.

The Rainbow Wahine will find out where they’re headed next when the NCAA tournament bracket is released on Sunday.

Parnaby’s three strikeouts over four innings today raised her season total to 325, passing the UH and Big West single-season records set by former Wahine standout Brooke Wilkins in 1994. Parnaby, who broke the conference’s single-season wins record on Friday, takes a 37-5 record into the postseason.

The UH offense gave Parnaby a 3-0 lead through four innings and broke away when Villalpando hit three-run homers in the fifth and sixth innings. VIllalpando entered the game with one home run and four runs batted in this season.
