Stephanie Arne of Honolulu is one of three finalists to become the new “Wild Guide” for online episodes of Mutual of Omaha’s “Wild Kingdom.”

Arne is a wildlife educator in Honolulu, though she grew up in South Dakota.

“I’ve always felt connected to nature. The world is so big and magical — if I can help people see they are part of the bigger picture, it might spark an interest and passion that carries forward to future generations,” she said, in a statement.

Arne and fellow Honolulu contestant Charles Lee submitted video samples of what their hosting of the new iteration of an American TV classic might look like, and their videos were among the dozen from semifinalists that were uploaded for online voting.

Arne will compete in the final round against Reggie Busse of Omaha, Neb. and Thiago Silva of El Paso, Texas.

The finalists will travel to Omaha for interviews with show producers, screen tests and other activities, which fans can follow online.

The winning “Wild Guide” will be announced July 15.
