Police: Inmate assaulted correctional officer

A 23-year-old inmate at the Oahu Community Correctional Center allegedly attacked a 59-year-old correctional officer Thursday afternoon.

Police arrested the inmate on suspicion of assault and harassment at OCCC at about 2:35 p.m., following the 12:10 p.m. incident.

Police did not release information on the condition of the guard.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.

Oops, was too harsh so the censors did not appreciate my comments. Coddling the prisoners of this nature does not solve the issue.

HAJALLIE hmm where are you getting your "information" from? You might want to go dig up the Department of Public Safety-Corrections reporting on Prisoner demographics in OCCC. I believe for Oahu, District 1 had the highest or pretty close to it for the number of Prisoners per Area Population. You also might want to dig up the Attorney General's statistics on juvenile crime, you'd probably be one of the few surprised by it.
